Because of all the different backup systems and methodologies that we would inherit when bringing on a new client, we’ve seen the good, the bad and the ugly.

Every Monday morning I go into the server room and plug in a USB drive. All of my data is copied to it, and then I take it offsite.

Nope. Not when we checked. The drives were blank.

My IT company configured the backup system to email me if it fails. I haven’t seen a failure message, so it’s working.

Not exactly. The backup wasn’t running at all. True, there was no failure. However, there was no success either.

My IT guy says that he uses this software all the time and that he KNOWS it will work. I trust him.
