Backup

Your Backup System Makes you Nervous

You are not alone.

Until we designed these backup plans, the majority of our DedicatedIT Managed Services clients had backup systems that we felt very uncomfortable trusting.

Backup Systems – The Good, the Bad and the Ugly

Because of all the different backup systems and methodologies that we would inherit when bringing on a new client, we’ve seen the good, the bad and the ugly.

Every Monday morning I go into the server room and plug in a USB drive. All of my data is copied to it, and then I take it offsite.

Nope. Not when we checked. The drives were blank.

My IT company configured the backup system to email me if it fails. I haven’t seen a failure message, so it’s working.

Not exactly. The backup wasn’t running at all. True, there was no failure. However, there was no success either.

My IT guy says that he uses this software all the time and that he KNOWS it will work. I trust him.

Do you really want to just blindly trust your ENTIRE business’s data to someone else? Frankly, I’d like them to prove it. Often.

You need a system that is well-designed, easily monitored, able to be tested and fits your small business budget.
